Everyone,
Due to remarkable numbers of 95 players trying out in our region next week we had to make a few adjustments to our tryout times. I will try to make sense of it all in this note. In addition to the Tuesday tryouts we have added a goalie only tryout on Monday and a final selection on Thursday the 5th at 7:30 until 8:30 pm. The 1996 birth
year numbers are still manageable for a Tuesday only tryout.
-
1995 Goalies will operate under a separate set of times and conditions then the rest of the 95 group.
-
All 1995 goalies are required to attend a 95 goalie only evaluation on Monday at 6:30 7:30 at the USM Ice Arena please arrive 30 minutes in advance to get registered and receive your jersey.
-
During the Monday session we will pick 6 goalies to advance to Tuesdays open player tryouts. 3 will be assigned to the first session and 3 will be assigned to the second session before they leave the arena. These assignments are independent of the last name placement of the forward skaters.
-
1995 Players we will split the sessions by last name. Players should arrive 45 minutes before their session to get checked in and receive their jersey.
-
A L will be on the ice from 7:15 until 8:30 pm
-
M Z will be on from 8:45 until 10 pm
-
All players selected for Thursdays session will be listed on the WAHA Cup website:
-
30 players and 3 goalies will be selected from both Tuesday sessions for final selections on Thursday nights session. Players will keep and wear their same jerseys so there is no need to check in early just be ready to go at 7:30.
Again 1996s tryouts are Tuesday only from 5:30 until 7pm. This will continue to be the case unless we reach 60 or more players at which time I will punt the ball!
Please realize that we will do our very best to ensure the right
selections. This is difficult to do in such a short time so it is nearly impossible to get it 100% correct but we have had pretty good success over the past 5 years of this awesome event. The best thing you can do is ensure your players are rested and well fed before they go on the ice. Then it is all up to them.
Good luck this weekend to all players of teams vying for state titles!
Sincerely,
Rene Cranston
